Does anyone know how the SW Area of Miami is ? There seems to be alot of nice homes in the area. Looks pretty decent. Is this the Kendall area ? Is Kendall near South Beach ? Please let me know any info about this area. Thanks.

I don't dare venture there anymore, however, I heard that Homestead is the last frontier for affordable housing in South Florida. It's probably somewhere in that location.

It is definitely not near Kendall or South Beach. It's in the middle of nowhere!

There are many posters on here in the SW area. The SW area of Miami is huge, it starts in downtown Miami at Flagler Street and Miami Ave and anything south and west from that crossroad in considered SW. Kendall is part of SW area. Kendall isn't close to South Beach, depending on traffic 20 minutes to a hour to get to South Beach from Kendall. If you read some past threads, we have talked about Kendall. What do you want to know about the area specifically, that way we can help you better?

Kendall is a nice area, mostly middle class, it's rather large and home prices can vary from 300,000 to over a million (Baptist hospital area) If you live in a home you will be fine, if you live in an apartment just check the building. Some buildings here in Miami can be kind of crappy. It is not close to South Beach, like 25 minute drive without traffic, but it's an area with a lot of nice restaurants, movie theathers, stores, and malls(Dadeland, Town and Country, Sunset place is also close).

It is an area with a lot of traffic during peak hours though, but nice in general.
