Default Islamorada fishing

Going to the Islamorada for fishing trip. Can I find fishing charters and a hotel when I get there or is it better to book in advance. Its hard to choose from so many different ones and I want a reputable charter and decent hotel.

Most charter boats ask for a reservation in advance with a 10%-50% deposit. However, the industry is so devastated due to GAS prices and the soft economy, that I'm sure they would be greatful for any business you offer them. You might even be able to find some great deals.

My favorite boat is called the "Dog House". It is a 53 foot Hatteras with a great captain, located in Whale Harbor. Rates start at like $500 and go up over $1000 depending on how far you go out and what you want to hunt for.

Doghouse Sportfishing Charters, Doghouse Offshore Fishing Charters, Doghouse Deep Water Fishing Charters

If this is not what you are looking for, you can always check other boats in Islamorada's 3 marinas...

-Holiday Isle (marina & resort)
-Whale Harbor (marina)
-Bud N' Mary's (marina)

Thanks for the info. I will check it out. It would be nice to get a deal but alot of the marina's are not cutting their prices. I dont know why they would want to stare away customers. Any money is good money.

Same with the realtors down here, seems everyone is holding their ground and refusing to budge. If you have the money to spare then by all means help a local out and pay what they ask, these boat captains have more hidden costs then you think like insurance and dock fees. if money is an issue then keep trying different marinas, it's not common but one might undercut the competition and offer you a deal.
