You hit it head on .... there are some things that I do not care for in hispanic culture , but to imply that hispanic women are easier or less attractive then "white " women is stupid and ignorant ... spend a week in Houston and then walk down Lincoln Road or Miracle Mile in Coral Gables and then tell me where you see better looking women ?
Your description of overweight women in mens t-shirts and sweat pants is what I saw for week in Katy , Texas near Houston recently .

Forget both groups. If you want to see woman that can remain in shape and strikingly beautiful after 40 look no further than Oriental (that's 'East Asian' to you young kids out there) women. I know several over 40 who have bodies that 20 year olds would be jelous of and faces that 30 year olds would be very happy with. The next time you see an Oriental lady who looks like she's 40 ask her her age. I bet she's actually closer to 60.

I have been to Singapore , Beijing and an international sales meeting in Phuket , Thailand .... yes there are some pretty Asian women and they are very friendly and courteous .... but I like curves and they seriously lack that very important resource ... I prefer American and Latin women .... go to Southern Brazil Porto Alegre , Curitiba and you will see blondes ( Giselle Bundchen types ) all over the place .. check out Medellin , Colombia and you will see girls that make Shakira look like a troll ... Asian women nice ... but I prefer them from this side of the world .

You should know that Miami is not the sunny laa dee da that you have pictured in your head. I go to USC for college and my family live in Miami, but living here was definitely tough.
Your daughter will be fine as long as you stay in areas like Pinecrest...and Pinecrest....and Pinecrest....or Coral Gables....or Pinecrest....
Miami in a nutshell is:
random 10 min rains in the middle of the day
humid
amazing night life
amazing beach life
UMiami is 51st in research, meaning the hospitals here are amazing
Anything you want to know about education just message me and I'll be happy to respond, seeing how growing up here I have a lot of updated education on the matter, that is, if you're worried about your daughter's education and such

I think I would like Brazil. Every time I see women from there they look good. I think they look more like Orientals than otehr Hispanics (although curvier as you said). I heard the number one plastic surgery procedure in Brazil some years ago was breast reduction (the opposite of what happens here).

Southern Brazil especially is AMAZING .... Porto Alegre , Curitiba and Florianopolis .... heavy European influnce , so you will see many beautiful blonde haired blue eyed Brazilian women and many raven haired green eyed women ... and they are like California women in that they really work out and tale care of themselves .

hello all,
question and I'd like an honest answer I'm a big boy LOL I am considering moving to Miami from AZ. I haved lived on the east coast for pratically all my adult life and wanted a change. After two years out in the desert it just ain't cutting it. I've lived in NYC and Washington, DC for over a decade and the culture nightlife, diversity of those cities are thoroughly engrained in me. I'm wondering if a move would be a positive thing. I have fallen in love with the weather out here and decided I can't or don't want to do winter per se anymore. I know of the creative outlets Miami has to offer. As far as the social aspect would it be a good places if one doesn't want to be in the clubsevery night!!

But these threads about MI-ami and high crime/low graduation rates are really starting to give me second thoughts. On my trips to visit family, I've definitely noticed a general lack of consideration for others. I mean, who answers a phone (OR TRANSLATES AN ENTIRE FILM) in a packed movie theater?! And then gets huffy when I suggest they act like considerate human beings! I'm starting to worry that this general lack of politeness is truly pervasive. Will my daughter, regardless of what school we place her in, be slammed up against a tide of selfish, self-absorbed kids? My husband and his family are Cuban and I truly love Latin culture, (you know there's a but coming) BUT I am also a little concerned with a strange hyper sexuality I think I've witnessed amongst many young Latin women there. Is there anything to that? Will my five year old be begging me for short skirts and lip gloss? Also, will I find anyone like me there? I'm white, protestant(ish), got a couple of relatively useless MAs from Berkeley, progressive, don't speak Spanish... yeah, it sucks to make yourself a stereotype, but there we have it. Also, are there any progressive schools in Miami ala San Francisco? Schools that have core values that focus on altruism, stewardship, the intellect over worrying about what others think about you? Am I going to be miserable there, people? Help...
