Not to be critical but do you live in a house with no T.V. and take the bus every where you go? If Miami is not the hit and run capital of the country then it surely is in the top 5. Very unsafe place to ride a bike. People are rude rude rude. I go to the store and people are jaming up the isles talking on their cell phones and you say excuse me to get by (ignored) say it a little louder (ignored) finally you have to say "Hey let me by" then wait to see if they start a fight. Same thing every where you go. You can't get a job unless you speak spanish (not a rap against spanish speaking people) it's just the truth.
Since the Orange bowl parade moved out of town, there is little to no community culture, just a bunch of different groups who have no connection to each other. Heck even Little Havanna is not that Cuban anymore. There is no togetherness here.
I asked someone about why people drive like this and he told me that in their contries they don't have stop signs or traffic lights. Well the drivers are not in their country anymore. Again it is not a rap against spanish people I have no beef with them. You go down US1 at night and you have to dodge Jay Walkers near Coconut Grove. I asked about that "It's another cultural thing" I was told.
An example of how bad the people are, the current Mayor of Miami when he was first elected had a huge party at a neighborhood park going until 3am. The residents around the park called 911 to complain and were all ignored and threatened. No appology that I heard. That is the example of the jerks we have here. Other than that it is a nice place to live.

I agree -- the jerk count here in Miami is pretty high. I just think this place attracts jerks from all races.

Dadeguy must not take 1-95, the Palmetto Exp or any major street on SW Miami. The only place I rarely encounter rude drivers is the Turnpike, and I take it all the way from the keys to West Palm. I guess is too expensive for the "cool" people.
It's getting worse down here. Maybe it's this new generation of drivers.

I drive on I-75, I-95, the palmetto, 836, 924 the turnpike, 595,395, 195, useless1 and federal all the time. I'm often pulling a trailer with about 10klbs of excavator on board and I never have a problem with switching lanes. I am a courteous driver and I don't expect people to allow me into a lane at the very last moment. since I usually drive slowly and allow safe braking distance I never have a problem with being "cut off". also I know and understand that I share the road with my fellow citizens who pay taxes and have a right to be on the road as well.
I know people who claim that some @#$*&^ !)*&%^$ cut them off but decorum prohibits me from stating my opinion of those people but I can safely say that those people are themselves the problem in traffic and they are not the type of person I care to associate with.

life has taught me that this type of attitude is pretty much indicative of the type of person who are usually themselves part of the problem and never part of the solution.
kindness and respect for others translates into driving habits as well. if you are a kind and courteous person you'll be a kind and courteous driver. if you are a kind and courteous driver other kind and courteous drivers will recognize that about you and yield the right of way on the few occasions where distractions or conditions have prevented you from making a proper decision in your navigation. and if not then there is always the next exit.
the point is to be kind and be courteous.

I was joking. No need for insults and please don't assume things about my driving habits because you are 100% wrong. I wonder who is being really disrespectful here.

dear lollitaz, I'm a bit confused here. I see no reason why you should feel offended as I was commenting in general and my response was not in any way directed at you. my intention is never to offend though at times the tone of a post might not come off as the poster (me in this instance, it seems) intended. if you would be so kind as to indicate what in my response you found personally offensive then perhaps I can clarify my statement a bit a better and then I might also learn to better select my verbage in future posts.
also please indicate where I commented on your particular driving habits?

Well miami is a great place to stay, and if you like to fight with people, u can fuss and shyt talk anytime you want. But if your going to drive around, drive with the crowd, no solo driving in the streets, cause these stupid retarded cops will pull you over and make you pay.

I love it here It's a nice city with both good and bad. There are lush parks, mangroves, beaches, etc, there are also gross neighborhoods. There are great people and jerks. Both.
