Alot of people here speak of miami with fear.... If your smart there is nothing to be afraid about. I was born and raised in Miami, currently am 21 years old. Miami is all about the people you know, Make sure you make friends with the right people because the wrong people will bring you down and destroy you.

OK miami is like how people tell you it has its nice famous parts and its slummy parts theres crime if you go to it you just need to know what places to stay away from. some low-income and high crime areas are hialeah, overtown, carol city,opa-locka,liberty city, brown sub, florida city mostly north miami but the nice areas are south beach, some of homestead, kendall, downtown, coral gables it all depends on where you are

well the bad neighborhoos and the good neighborhoos are less than 5 blocks away but i dont understand why people asume just because they drive in a neighborhood theyre gonna get robbed or jumped? there are regular people living in those neighborhoods and i dont see why they would wanna rob you out of every other car or person that walks by. most of them are not dumb they actually have brains.

Dating is not working for me here. The men think that sex on the second date is the "norm". Is it a cultural thing? I don't know. I have blonde hair, do they think that blondes are easy? Do latinos treat all women like that?

Everybody knows Spanish, we are in Spain. That's the reality.
Most people here also speak French, English and a gibberish of German, Dutch, etc.
As to Chinese, that burning took place far from here, and they didn't burn local Chinese shoe factories, they burned a illegal storehouse importing cheap shoes from China.
Shoe factories are on the way out in Spain, my family had a shoe factory that closed down 25 years ago. Chinese were not guilty but taxes.
There's no animosity here against Chinese. In the town I live, about 20.000 inhabitants, there are 4 Chinese restaurants, 3 or 4 chinese "1 dollar" shops, 2 Japanese restaurants, 1 Thai restaurant. Chinese are thriving here and they are happy in Spain. People don't say anymore that they serve cat or that they chop their dead to serve them in their restaurants.
You are referring to "Spanish Rednecks". Yes, we have plenty of Rednecks too. Rural Spaniards..."Deep Spain". Catalans call them "Castillians", "Castellà"..
Well, they are learning English. In fact, in their Language Aptitude Test they had better results in English that Catalans, quite an insult for Catalans.
But those "blue collared rednecks" from Inner Spain are disappearing at a fast pace and they must know English to get a decent job and now rural Spain is a desert, unfortunately.
We are a touristic country. Tourism, Industry, Construction (no more..)..
Yes, you are right. Having a different language from Spanish from birth helps a lot. Nobody is monolingual here.
Well. I'm my employer.

A lot of it depends on the circles you hang out in, and where you meet people
It's my general experience, just from knowing a lot of people, that clubs and bars are most of the time not the best places to meet quality, relationship-material individuals...I don't know if that's what you're doing, but if you are stay away from it as a dating scene

Welcome to my world! This is my biggest dating complaint, that and all the drunks/drug addicts. I'm a Florida native and the dating scene down here has always been awful. I'm in NO way trying to be concieted as I truly think it is what is in your heart/soul that really matters as looks fade, that said, I am above average looking and have no complaints with how I look. I still a have a terrible time with dating as the scene is so superficial, I want something traditional not "friends with benefits". All my college friends have moved, and one told me she moved cause she wanted to get married someday and she was afraid she'd never meet anyone here. I'm done with the scene and am holding out hope for when I move, wish me luck, lol! Once again, these are only my observations/experiences and do not pertain to everyone.

Yeah, I don't know. One would think that a tall, blonde would not have a problem getting a date in Miami. I don't do bars, and that internet thing is not for me. I am just focusing on working out every night, going to yoga, wearing myself out on the treadmill. I think I will start work on an MBA next semester, I don't really have anything else to do.

It's very hard to find a good guy in Miami, they are 1 one in a billion. Just be careful. Most of these island guys just want a one night stand and throw you away the next day.
