This must be a joke. Best quality of life. ROFL
If you define quality as being stuck on 95, the Palmetto or Dolphin expressway for 4 hours. While the streets surrounding them are flooded.

Well, I guess, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". You could be living in the peace and quiet in Alaska if you prefer that.
The negative views expressed about Miami are quite interesting to me, as a non-Miami resident and sometime visitor. True, I live in Los Angeles, which is another big city a lot of people like to hate. That said, no place is perfect.
From a global perspective, any big city in the USA is a pretty darn good deal. And Miami & Los Angeles have the benefit of a nice climate plus the wonderful coastline.
For places like LA or Miami, the historical migration patterns from Mexico (for LA) and Cuba (for Miami) are clear.
The current violence in Mexico AND the lastest swine flu break out ONLY makes living in Miami or LA look that much better. No offense to Mexico, a beautiful country with even more beautiful people.

I love Miami. Dont get me wrong. I used to live there and expect to move back in a couple of years. I also go very often to SoFlo. However, quality of life and a banner city for the future is not.
Sorry to burst someone's bubble.

No bubbles being burst. But if you think the quality of life is lacking, why do you want to move back??

I can see it.
As for people who can't see it...well, sounds like they prefer the Clevelands, the Jacksonvilles, the Kansas City type place...which is fine. Different strokes for different folks.
But internationally-speaking....MIAMI is a city of the future....regardless if anti-spanish people like Miami or not....the facts continue to be that Miami continues to attract people from all over the world - South America, Carribbean, Europe, etc. in particular. International people ARE interested in international languages...they ARE interested in international people...and those things combine perfectly for INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS.
So regardless if resistant Americans don't like internationalism or not...for Miami, that will only continue...and no doubt it will be one of the cities of the future that will continue in that direction.
