Fixed the roads? Isn't just easier to build it further west? When they "fixed" SW 8 street, la calle ocho, it took several years and the stores around the area lost a lot of business.

Default I can not believe all the hatered in this thread.

I personally welcome Walmart. Do you know how many jobs that will give unemployed people ? it will better our economy, why don't you guys on this thread see this ? ya streets will be more crowded but who cares.. if you don't wanna drive in traffic, dont drive at all or take public transit.
If you are concerned about all the mom and pop stores, they are already out of business due to the economy and not being able to afford the rent.

Also, to the people who complained about the "people" that shop at wal-mart.. We are not in trash town so don't worry about it, I personally think that you will not be seeing the half naked fat cowboy with pink boots there.

Im originally from San Francisco,Ca and out there we have Target every 3 miles and huge chain stores in every city, big companies move in all the time ,this is normal!! Welcome to big corporations people!

Now if you wanna bother Souto about something important, Tell him about how all the buses in Miami are always 5-30 mins late.

There are no traffic issues further west? Building further west won't cause the traffic problems as it will near SW 87th Ave? The Greater Miami area is not growing?

There are only two options:

1) Keep road development in-check with the population increases and the commerce that inevitably comes with it.

2) Place a moratorium on *ANY* new construction because our roads can't handle the increased demands

As it stands we really aren't doing much of either.

Moving it to "someone else's backyard" isn't a proper solution. The construction done a few years ago on US Highway 41 east of State Road 826 is a joke as no real capacity expansion took place. Contrast that to the S.R. 836 extension project where real road capacity was added (to alleviate the traffic congestion going west, nonetheless!)

There was a Wal-Mart hiring center in Tamiami Park earlier this month.

Now i don't have to travel all the way to Doral .

The Doral Walmart is horrible. I just hope this one sells ammo so I don't have to go to Hialeah or Kendall

I don't like the one in Doral. Never did.

I just hope this one is bigger and more organized.

If it opened today then the traffic is going to be super bad.
