Street in North Miami (high crime, house, safe neighborhood)

I'm interested in a house that is in the 500s block of NE 130 St. in North Miami. I have read that North Miami is not very safe, but the owner of this particular house claims it is a "very safe neighborhood." Does anyone know if this particular small area of North Miami is an exception to the rule?

your idea and his idea of "safe" may be very different....i'd bet he'd tell ya anything, he just wants to sell his house and move probably. If it was me selling the house, and there was a gang related shooting next door, last night, hell i would tell you its a safe place too.

Drive by the house at different times and check the crime statistics. I recommend driving by especially to see if it's a noisy area! Although I lived in an area near there supposed to be high crime 3 years (now live in another one) and never had a problem. You sure can't count on the owner's word.

Drive by at all times of the day and night. Weekends especially to see if hot rodding teenagers are burning rubber in their rice burners, or dudes are rolling around in their Caprices with dubs.
Anyway, start by doing a googlemaps search and see what the neighborhood looks like.
