I'll have to ask my mother about La Vibora. I've heard of that place but must not have been paying attention at the time.
El Vedado (where my family is from and where I was born) is just as dilapidated as any other area.

El Vedado is kind of nice, not dilapidated at all.
People there are making a bundle renting rooms and houses.
Problem is that they built some soviet style buildings that are packed with low-life.
Of course, you see a lot of low-life walking around, but they don't live there.
Old schools in La Vibora..

I know a family...father was professor at the university. Has a apt in El Vedado. He and wife live in one room and rent the rest of the apt, which has A/C, leather furniture, etc., in dollars, to a chinese couple. |
