I dont like that look either. Looks like Florida. But not that much of NC looks like that. When did you live there in Raeligh to know that is (supposedly) looks like suburban sprawl in "much of nc." Because it isnt true. Some places look like that, but it isnt nearly as prevalent as it is in Florida.

Tacky?

Funny. I find tacky to be little houses that all look alike with no yard, looking like little boxes, painted orange or lime green with burglar bars on them. But that's just me!

It's funny how we all have different stories to tell. I used to drive a shuttle bus for a travel agency. Many times, I would drive people from the port of Miami to their destination. On more than one occassion, as I was driving west on the 836, people would marvel at how ''tropical" the neighborhoods off the 836 looked. Between the TREES and the waterway, these mostly northern tourist would admire and cherish out tropical setting. And here we are lambasting it.
This differs from CLT whose out of town guests wonder about our lack of trees.

I do like those much better than all the mediterrainain styles but the first one I really love. If I could have that, in Florida on several acres I would be one happy camper!

Are these actual pictures or artists' rendition? Some of the model homes on mihomes.com look like the latter.

How about the first house on a couple acres, rolling hills, in the Tally area? That'd be cool!

^^ You posted some that are quite divine. Some other links, though, whether yours or not, are only ok.

^ I posted the ones in Raleigh (the post with the threee pics) and the one (on page 7) in Asheville. The big, spanish style homes behind the gates were in Miami.

It does sound pretty cool. I really really love that first house. One of the posters called it a dollhouse I think and maybe that is why I love it. Appeals to the little girl in me who still likes princessy things lol.
