Honestly, I never liked those wooden nothern type homes. The south Florida pre 1970 homes were and are my favorite, and I built mine in 1990! Those high gabled roofs, shingles, wood accents and the like are ugly to me. However, the "Cuban Mcmansion" is even more disgusting. The good thing about the pic above is that there are spaces between the homes and some open space to enjoy! Definately not ghetto in the least bit, or will ever be.

That is beautiful. I have never been but have a relative who moved there from Miami and wouldn't dream of moving back. She says the best thing about it is no spanish tile anywhere to be seen lol. That is the one thing I do not miss about Miami although as more Miamians move to Tampa the more I am seeing that awful orange and mediterraian style housing. Three different families have moved up in my neighborhood and had their houses built and they are all that spanish tile and orange. It's a freaking eyesore considering every other house in the area is brick or even stucco but I guess they just had to stand out lol. Sometimes I wish I lived in a deed restricted community lol!

I like that style personally. And as a FL native, I like the CBS homes too and the styles.

But your right, those are 3/4 acre lots. My house in FL was more money than that one was, mine's smaller, far less upgrades, and on............ .15 acres! LOL! that is a tiny lot my house is sittin' on! Also, forclosures are practically non-existent there. My subdivision here looks depressing with all the forclosures, un-cut lawns, and for sale signs. Live and learn!

I live in one of those "no speakie english" areas and I could post a picture of my house and my lawn and my trees and my no-bar windows and my front gates, but then I'd have to kill you. Besides I'm Cuban and according to some, no Cuban could live like that.

Leogivildio (was I close?) those pictures of Cuba are REALLLLLLLLLL suspect.

LOL, Leovigildgo, good pictures of Siboney (Biltmore). In my five year in the City of Havana, I never saw a crumbling house in the mentioned neighborhood. Those are magnificient houses aka to Coral Gables'; one of the most astonishing is where the Canadian ambassador lives, WHAT A BEAUTY OF HOUSE.

Look, a suspect house. Miramar.
Probably confiscated to a Camagüeyano, the large clay jars, "tinajones".
