My wife has no Spanish at all; I read and understand Spanish but can't converse well. Neither of us are Catholic; indeed, our surname identifies us as of Jewish parentage.

Given Coral Gables' demographics -- and discounting the University's moderating influence on those figures -- are we going to have trouble "fitting in" if we move to Coral Gables?

Coral Gables is about half "Hispanic" (almost all of which are white) and a little less than half non-Hispanic white. There is a decent Jewish population in Coral Gables, but as you have correctly pointed out, most people are Catholic, and some are Protestant. English-only will be absolutely no problem at all, as pretty much everyone in Coral Gables seems to speak English. You should be fine, as Coral Gables is a beautiful place with residents who really care about keeping up the quality of life.

Not at all. Its a beautiful area as is Key Biscayne, Brickell, Pinecrest and most of South Miami. You will enjoy it if you are close to your activities and are not relying on commuting.

you will not have any problems at all. even if you wander south and east finding yourself in deepest darkest little havana you will find that the smile is universally recognized and welcomed.

all the best

You will be fine. Just fine. Maybe there will be a short adjustment period but such things are entirely manageable.

As John Lennon said; everywhere you go, there you are.
