I was referring to strictly European languages, as explained.

That surely shows some MAJOR ignorance on your behalf. Italian-Americans across the country are one of the most well integrated and respected community and part of the reason that made this country so great.

I was following you line of thought.
I think that the most common "European language" according to your theory is French.
There are French and French Canadians, they speak French with "redneck" accent, very funny.
But French from France tend to speak passable Spanish when drunk.

Yes, but immigrants from the Caribbeans also figure into that percentage as many of them speak French as first language.

In reality I think French, Germans and Italians make up the three most represented immigrants groups from Europe in South Florida. Hard to tell which one has highest numbers.

I see..
According to the Spanish Consulate there are 25.000 Spaniards in Miami, but I think that many are Spaniards from Latin America.
Italians...Italians favour Latin America, they are extremely popular there. They might use Miami as a base.
Germans are buying a lot of Real Estate in North Miami beach and Ft. Lauderdale. I know because some of them visit my little hotel when they come from there.
Dutch, there are many Dutch in Miami.
Dutch are the most versatile people in Europe, they speak any language there is.

I am an immigrant. I have no emotional connection to the America that existed before this current wave of immigration. The America I know is the one that exists as it is today. I can't reference back to a time when things were 'better' or 'worse' because of demographic changes. If I were born in this country, grew up when things were a certain way, and then things changed, I would be able to reference a time when things were different.

Yes, those areas are famous for their thriving German & Irish communities. There are times when I'm in Hialeah that I almost feel like I'm in Berlin, or Frankfurt.
