What are some other cities often lumped in the 'Miami' category, that are actually cities in their own right that would be good for families?

It seems that any city that is within 100 miles of Miami is lumped in the "Miami " catagory " which is really unfair as there are cities in Broward and Palm Beach county that are very different from the city of Miami .. too name a few Boca Raton , Parkland , Coconut Creek , Ft.Lauderdale , Weston , Palm Beach Gardens , Wellington , Jupiter , Royal Palm Beach , Cooper City , and even in Dade County .. Aventura , Coral Gables , Miami Shores and Pine crest are excellent places to live and none are in the boundaries if the city of Miami . I would personally look in West Broward and Western Palm Beach County starting North of Pines Blvd .

If you can afford them .... the only areas technically within the city of Miami that are good on my opinion are East Kendall , parts of Coconut Grove , Brickell and Key Biscayne and the last two are expensive
