I work in Aventura, & yes it is very congested. But there is traffic everywhere, so...I would say if you want to stay with the "spanish vibe" - Key Biscayne. More American - Aventura. (Note I say "more" - it's still Dade! )

I think we are going to end up going to Aventura. We come from Gainesville and are very used to having everything nearby. Our longest commute would be 15 minutes and that was on the other side of town taking I-75. The only scary part is the traffic to work (in Doral) but my guess is that if we leave at 6:30am we won't have any problems. I'm going there today to check some rentals in the area today and just to have a better look overall. Thanks again for the posts.

We haven't consider Hallandale yet. I would appreciate if you can send me the pictures my email is: jrsan@ufl.edu or better yet if you can post them here for the benefit of everyone. I've never done it but I think you need to put them in a web server and then link the picture here as:
<img src="http://www.host.com/mypage/img.jpg">
where http://www.host.com/mypage.img.jpg is where you have the photo.

You can probably use http://photobucket.com as the photo server.

As for the search...we went to Aventura / Sunny Isles yesterday and it was very nice. We liked Sunny Isles more because is less crowded, there is a nice view, and is within walking distance to the beach. However as pointed by someone in another thread we noticed that we would be going to Aventura for many things and the drive to get out might be bothersome. The search continues... Thanks!

Aventura is visually a nice place. Living in Aventura is awful though! After two LONG years could not get out fast enough.
Overcrowded and a traffic nightmare to say the least. Way too many rude and arrogant latins. They want to take over Aventura. Yes, had plenty tell me just that. Very hard to deal with that on a daily basis.
Moving to Aventura, beware!

I have to disagree with you. Aventura is a very nice area, regardless of whether Hispanics live there or not

Default Key Biscayne hands down !!!!

Forget the traffic .. if you can afford Key Biscayne God Bless you and do it. Key Biscayne is a very exclusive area and in my opinion much more desirable than Aventura will ever be. Plus it is much closer to Doral. You won't have much traffic because you are going against traffic.
