West Boynton stretches out pretty far... they should really make it its own city. Most of Wellington is very nice except for one section (near the 12th Fairway)

Other than that minor section Wellington is fine.

It's 2007, the newest data there is bubba. Orlando is 9.16% Puerto Rican. Yeehaw Junction, FL has a higher percentage at 36.64%. I am getting my stats from the U.S. Census/Origins data. Many places in NY/NJ have higher amounts of Puerto Ricans compared to Orlando.

Gunfight in home reflects Wellington area's decline

Other than that minor section Wellington is fine.

I thought most of what I saw of Wellington was beautiful .... but I heard that some low end rental units in one area had brought a spike in crime ... too bad most of the place is quiet lovely . Thanks for the information

^^^That's old. Try to tell anyone in Orlando (or central FL) that Orlando's Puerto Rican population is 9%, LOL. Like I said, Orlando has the 2nd highest PR population behind only NYC.

Where is your data to support this? You claim that Orlando has the second highest Puerto Rican population but you are not backing it up with any sources.

PBCBoy, you say there are all kinds of cities in NY and NJ that have a higher concentration of PR's than Orlando? LOL! Not quite. Plus, you said Miami had more I think... again, incorrect. In 2003, Miami had 155,000 and Orlando had 206,000 - and that was in 2003! FL has taken over 2nd place (jumping over NJ) and Orlando is CLEARLY the place where most PR's choose to live.

In 2000 (almost 10 yrs ago) Florida's PR population was ALREADY 14%, and 3 of the top 10 cities with the highest PR population were in FL - Orlando, Miami, and Tampa. Other cities in the top 10 were Chicago, NYC (obviously), Philadelphia to name a few.

I did not say anything about Puerto Ricans in Miami so I'm not sure where you got that from. But alas, I still do not see any info where Orlando is second to New York in terms of Puerto Ricans in the U.S.... and in the northeast in cities like Hartford, CT there is a bigger presence of Puerto Ricans than in Orlando.

Here are the major Puerto Rican populations in the U.S.:

Some cities that have a higher percentage of Puerto Ricans than Orlando:

Hartford, CT
Camden, NJ
Bronx, NY
Perth Amboy, NJ
Newark, NJ
Lancaster, PA

In terms of Miami-Dade the city with the most Puerto Ricans is Miami Gardens followed by South Miami Heights.
