Yea because it takes up the entire Duval County. Even though the county is like the 6th largest county in Florida so is not as big as they say it is. Imagine if the city limits in Miami were the entire county 2.5 million compared to 700,000?
But anyways Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, St. Pete and even West Palm have lots of spanish people and bad traffic. So they all have that it common. Your only pointing out the obvious.
Miami is way more spanish than Orlando and not just because theirs more people either. Are their neighborhoods in Orlando where you can't speak english? Because in Miami theirs more neighborhoods where you can't speak english than spanish.

I laught at these comparisons ... Miami and Orlando are nothing alike ... the vibe and feel are different .. Orlando has areas and small towns nearby that feel like Middle America or the South and Miami is much , much more Hispanic influenced ... in fact Orlando is almost limited exclusivey to Puerto Ricans and that is only in some areas .. Miami is a Hispanic city with Hispanics / Cubans running it and Orlando is a city run by white Americans with some areas that have a large Puerto Rican influence and a smaller Mexican and South American influence .
Miami always has the Cuba this and Fidel that garbage influencing everything while Orlando is all about Mickey ... the only thing that the two cities share is horrible traffic , heat and high crime ... hell Orlando even has a lovely , walkable , vibrant downtown ... Miami does not . Brickell is not downtown !!!

Correct ... you do not need any Spanish to survive in Orlando ... yet you do in Miami .

Well I've visited Orlando before (for a week) and it is a total bore compared to Miami from my experience. I visit Orlando at least once a year and it seems to be in a steady decline. Every year it becomes more rundown and more crowded! And don't even think about living in a development down there! The sprawl is horrendous. They both have their equal share of problems imo, just in different ways.

Wow, not sure why I got that kind of response. Everyone can say how they are similar, how they are different , and giving their reasons for those and then I get this response for saying my 2 cents??? You hear spanish constantly, crime, road rage are bad in both areas... so where's the confusion? Both cities have all these problems and then some, so I'm pretty sure Miami and Orlando would hold up to their sub-par quality of life without me... i.e. "ass clowns" like me, who drive safely, who dont commit crimes, who dont skip out on mortgage payments, and who pays their taxes are not the problem.

And yes, someone trying to escape S FL should pass on Orlando, that's for sure. Keep heading North!

If your not sure it can get worst then you obviously never been to Miami. Have you ever lived in Miami? Because it is much different than visiting.

Wooow you herd someone speaking spanish in Florida! Do you need to know spanish to go grocery shopping, put money on your gas pump and even asking for directions in Orlando?
The confusion is why don't you see how the two are different from each other. Another confusion why do you still state the obvious that many major cities have the same problem.
People complain on how Orlando is getting worst. Well it's time it joins the rest of the big cities in Florida. And by the time it does get like Miami, Miami will have grown and have even bigger problems.
The truth is Miami is more different than Orlando then they are the same by far.

Wooow you herd someone speaking spanish in Florida! Yes, unfortunately everyday. Do you need to know spanish to go grocery shopping, put money on your gas pump and even asking for directions in Orlando? I dont need to talk to anyone when I pump my gas, but directions and/or grocery shopping, yes, at times.
The confusion is why don't you see how the two are different from each other. Another confusion why do you still state the obvious that many major cities have the same problem. The question from the OP is "are they alike?"
People complain on how Orlando is getting worst. Well it's time it joins the rest of the big cities in Florida. Orlando is there. No question about it. And by the time it does get like Miami, Miami will have grown and have even bigger problems. I agree.

But the questions asks if they are alike. So I listed what is similar, IMO.

How is that? Isnt this thread about similarities between Miami and Orlando? Is it OK to discuss the simillarities/differences? I think so. So rude people, crime, road rage, etc... isnt a part of life in Miami and Orlando? Dont you think normal people would be a lot happier if we didnt have to be around these people daily? I get ran off the road in my own subdivision, I get honked at for coming to a stop at a stop-sign im my own subdivision. I have to mow yards for free due to all the foreclosures in my own subdivision. Cars and motorcycles get stolen in my own subdivision. I dont have to go far to put up with BS. And to top it off, homes in my area are $250-450k, and we still have to put up with this crap? Gotta be kidding.
