Default Is Orlando like Miami?

There is a debate going on in the City v City Forum where some are claiming that Orlando is similar to Miami. I say that Miami is nothing like Orlando and that Orlando is more similar to Tampa and Jacksonville in vibe and construction. What do you Miamians think?

I wouldn't say Orlando's extremely similar to Miami, but it's more like Miami than the other cities you mentioned, because of large Hispanic population and large amounts of people from the Northeast. The other two cities have more native Floridians.

DailyJournalist also stated in the other thread that Jacksonville and Orlando are similar, and even look the same.

My opinion is that the newer development in Orlando much more resembles Miami than either Tampa or Jacksonville.

Let's play fair here, DJ. You never once mentioned "vibe" in your little diatribe.

Before all the Miami fans come in and bash this thread...I did NOT say that "Orlando is like Miami". Sheesh. I said downtown Orlando is like a younger Miami in style, just without the beach. Younger meaning it is clearly not as developed as Miami, nor is it as wealthy, but the look of the buildings and style they are emulating is SIMILAR to Miami. In any case, downtown Orlando looks a lot more like Miami than it does Tampa or Jacksonville architecturally.

Tampa and Jax both have completely dead downtowns, so that makes them similar.

The weather, the people, the road rage, the crime, the language spoken, where people are from (Latin America, Central America, or NY/NJ), the rude people, the terrible drivers... YUP! PRETTY SIMILAR! Not to the extent of Miami in these aspects, but getting close.

Miami is on the coast, and Orlando would still be (IMO) a better place to live though.

Who is possibly voting yes in these polls?
Maybe in having lots of hispanics and northeast people but so do ft. lauderdale and west palm and probally tampa.
Are there palces in Orlando where you can't speak English because their less places you can speak english than spanish in Miami. Miami way more built up tons of more people and a different attitude.
Orlando has the worst sprawl of a city than any I've seen in Florida. People in Orlando think their crime is bad now down here it's even worst along with traffic.
The only reason Orlando even exist is because of Disney why you think it's the only big city without a beach?
You'd better write why you think it is if you vote yes.
