Default Commute from CG to Key Biscayne

Can someone tell me how bad is the commute from Coral Gables in the am, around 7:30 to Key Biscayne area (Crandon Blvd) and then back at 5:00 pm or so the reverse.

Thanks!

I'm guessing it shouldn't be that bad because they are rather close from each other, especially in the evening, but it's not a commute I have done too many times, so that's why I'm not sure how long it would take w/ traffic.

Depends where in the Gables... I would try to avoid US1 at all costs but in the AM and the PM rush...

Once get into the Key, it's an easy drive in except when there is an event like the Sony Ericcson..

One route I've taken, from KB: Left on South Miami Ave, straight to Bayshore Drive, through the Grove. At the Bayshore/Main Hwy/Grand Ave intersection (Cocowalk), take Grand ave (roll up your windows and lock your doors for the next mile or so). Use Grand to cross US1, which takes you to Ponce de Leon! It has never taken me more than 25 minutes to get from KB to the UM main campus or Merrick Park. Ponce is pretty fast, if you need to go to Miracle Mile or the North Ponce area. This route is not the most direct, but it seems to work better than Coral Way or US1.
