Would really appreciate any input/opinions on this area… (As compared to much of the surrounding Miami area)
Cost of living
Safety
Schools
Open mindedness /Attitude of the residents
Good house investment area?

The grove is touristy, yet has a village feel. The grovites are trying to keep the area green with it's many bayfront parks. very nice area compared to the rest of miami, and most of the people there are english speaking. The housing in that area is very expensive. local schools border a bad area, you might consider silver bluff elm. nearby.

The grove is a good area, but it does have a not so nice part to it, which has drugs and criminals. Break-ins do happen in homes that border that part of the grove. Safety wise, the areas that border that bad area aren't that safe, but the rest of the grove is as safe as it can be for Miami. Schools, I am not sure what school (Coral Gables High a "C" school I think) they would go to, many wealthier kids in this area usually go to one of the private prep schools or off to boarding school. Openmindness most Miami is pretty liberal. There are always the exceptions...Good housing investment, as long as it doesn't border the bad areas, I guess, I saw many homes for sale in the grove lately, not sure what that means.

I love the Grove personally and recommend it to anyone who can afford it. It is tree covered, near the water (that all important sea breeze), is centrally located, has great attractions and parks...it is an awsome place for priveleged people.
I think the investment train has left the station, teh Grove is no little secret. It is very expensive, and the only current investment going on are tear downs of the original modest homes for milliondollar mcmansions (tacky). None the less, the trees and walls keep the vivual blight of these "investors" to a minimum.
