Actually LA no longer has the worst traffic in the nation. And the air quality varies, LA is in a large basin and depending on the wind conditions and the time of year it changes. Some days it is clear blue skies, other days it is very, very, hazy.

Like I said I have lived in CA and FL, and CA comes out on top. I spend more time indoors here because of the heat and humidity. Nothing worse than going out dressed up at night, and stepping outside into a sauna. When I see people dressed in suits and ties during the day, I don't know how they do it.

In LA even in the summertime, it cools down to a comfortable temperture at night. Unlike here where the humidty can knock you over, especially if you are used to a dry heat.

At night theres just no breeze, hot, and sticky. going out at night in FL sometimes feels worse then during the day because of the higher humidity and typically theres no breeze at night. Honistly I feel more cool during the day because I get wet from the sweat and then the breeze blows on me. Just seconding what you said. I like to exercise by playing tennis, instead of your body getting worn down from playing, its the heat that wears you down, so you hardly get a work out. It feels like you had a work out, but thats just the heat and humidity playing tricks on you.

Exactly. And you see a lot more obese people in Florida. I think it has to do with the humidity.

It is so draining, people end up inside and doing as little as possible. I know I spend more time indoors here than I did in CA. In Sept. it can get really hot in LA, but it is still dry so you don't feel the air like you do here.

My electric bill in CA was nothing compared to here, because you can go without the AC most of the year. In Florida you become a prisoner of A/C most of the year and you must have it on. I would rather open a window and get a breeze, but it isn't an option here.

The only time AC is necessary in Miami is between June and September. The rest of the time it gets quite cold at night. If I never had roomates I would have opted for the heat to be on.

It is usually like 75 at night during the winter months and sometimes even in the 60s.

And that requires having the heat on?

I think you are not a representative of the majority of Miami residents. My a/c is on combined days probably 10 months out of the year. The rest of the year for many it still isn't what they would consider cold. I met a guy last week, that likes to sleep at 64F, so he puts the a/c to that each night. I think I had the heat on for 1 or 2 days this last winter. I love it when some Miamians pull out their heavy leather jackets when it 65F, I find it really funny. Maybe a light jacket, but not a winter jacket.
