Pics of Miami 1980's -1990
Old Postcards - notice there are no trees in north Lummus. Also note the skyline in MIA. Funny, on the back of this card I actually wrote MIA needs a few skyscrapers under the pink palm. Well they apparently accepted my request. Top is taken from the NW corner of Washington & 5th looking toward Ocean. That's the renowned 5th St gym where Mayor Dowd a nd Mickey Rourke boxed. Bottom is Collins ave looking north from 3rd St. You can see and old laundromat on 4th and Collins that is no longer there. Also at 5th you can see the former Pantry Pride gone in it's entirety.

All of these pictures make me want to run away quickly from NYC right now! I haven't been to Miami yet but I plan on going really soon. I've heard all different opinions on how Miami is full of crime, expensive blah, blah but being born and raised in Queens, NY all my life, I find it hard to believe. Miami seems like NY only cleaner and prettier!

Some Beautiful pictures, although living in England and not yet ever visited the States, I have always had a fascination with and liked the look of Miami, partly due to my love of the Miami Dolphins and the Miami Vice tv series, but also being a seaside man myself (born and bred in Blackpool, England) it looks like the perfect place to be. I hope to visit in the near future, and see this beautiful city. One day maybe even relocate there.
