Define "decent". Middle class blacks in Miami tend to integrate into various middle-class neighborhoods. Country Walk is the first to come to mind. Otherwise you would probably want to look at central-west Miramar which is right across the county line, but that area is also pretty well blended and just barley tips on being predominantly black. In fact, most ethnically defined neighborhoods in South Florida tend to be very insular and/or poor, including most "truly" black, Hispanic and White areas. That being said, your closest bet is probably the Andover section of Miami Gardens, followed by Richmond Heights, and then some sections of North Miami Beach, and even these areas are borderline. The rest aren't too good.

I wouldn't say there are any "decent" neighborhoods that are "truly" black either. Richmond Heights might be ok but I believe there is a lot of property crime there.

I don't think "middle class blacks" and "Miami" go together well in the same sentence. Same with "south florida"... not to sound racist, but black folks in in south florida have it alot rougher than say here in Chicago, or Atlanta or New York. There's no pride in those black neighborhoods, and hardly any professionals seem to come out of em. Chicago has Oprah, Jesse Jackson, Obama, they actually care about the crime raises in certain gang neighborhoods, and they're actually upper class black neighborhoods that exist here. Alot of black folks in south florida seem to take pride in the fact that their crime rate raises. Kind of generilizing, but that's the way it seems when you compare the two.

I'd classify that as Richmond Heights. See above.

That's a better side of Richmond Heights/Palmetto Estates, it's not bad, working class, clean, not preferable though. There are a lot of Hispanics and Anglos in that area. If you need to be in a middle class black area you are probably better off crossing the county line and looking into the area between Red Road and I-75 in Miramar, which mostly consists of newer, larger homes and mid-upper scale businesses, above-average schools, some crime but mostly from outside of the area, and is maybe about 35-40% black and 30-40% Hispanic, and 5 minutes from the county line. Keep in mind that most middle class people in South Florida don't really care about ethnicity and tend to integrate.

I've noticed the Black American middle class tend to integrate into communities that have various ethnic groups or are predominantly White American. Jamaican, Trinidadians, etc.. tend to build their neighborhoods, but mostly in the broward county area. Richmond Heights is a majority Black American neighborhood, but it's mixed with lower and middle class households.

traveler I tend to agree, most middle class blacks in Miami don't tend to live in just one area but they integrate into mixed neighborhoods mostly. Richmond Heights does have a black middle class though.

I don't know lots of other black people since I've moved here except for the ones I see sometimes with gold teeth and pants hanging halfway off there butt (I am black so this is not a racist statement just the truth). Most people you would assum are american black are haitian, bahamian, or jamacian and there culture is completely different. Like waking up to hear roosters crowing at 5am. I would try ft lauderdale and get away from it all if I were you.
