unradical is on a distinguished road
I do have guns at home to protect myself and my property, but haven't bothered getting a concealed weapons permit to carry around during the day. Mainly because I cannot bring the gun to work, which would mean I'd have to leave the gun at home 90% of the time, and because I have a bad case of road rage (better to not even have the temptation).

Any other basic constitutional rights you disagree with?

Data shows that where more people own guns crime is lower. It's in the areas where gun ownership restrictions are so draconian that crime is highest, like Washington DC and Chicago.

For those people that say they can't carry guns to work you do know that you can leave them in your car, right? The courts rules on that one about three years ago that an employer can ban them from the workplace but that does not affect your right to keep in in your car even if ti is on their property.

I'm not a big fan of concealed weapons though. I want people to wear them where then can be seen. That way it is also a deterrant factor to tempers flaring up in the first place.

I personally do not own a gun and the only time I felt I needed one was in the lawless few days after Hurrican Andrew.

If someone (God forbid) comes in your workplace and starts popping off rounds, what good is a gun in the trunk of your car gonna do you?
If you could make it to your car you would just drive off. What are you gonna do, run back inside waving your pistol in the air?

Correct. Not being able to take it inside makes it useless if something happenes at work but you will still have protection if something happenes on the way to work or on the way home. What if you have to drive through a bad neighborhood and your car breaks down? Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

You're smart. I don't see why people feel the need to walk around being armed all the time.

Like I said earlier, have lived all over the country and never saw such a gun happy state.

You want to protect your home, be my guest.

That law that you can bring your gun to work, but leave it in the car is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of.

What happens when someone finds out they're being laid off, and goes out and gets the gun in a moment of rage?

Or who is liable if the gun or the car is stolen, and the thief uses the gun in crime or murder?

I work the other way around, I only want a gun when I go to the West Coast or anywhere above Palm beach in Florida.

I feel much safer in Little Haiti, Little Havana, East Hialeah, Florida City, Miami Gardens or the Goulds than any place where the confederate flag is being flown. I know in those unsafe neighborhoods I just to give them my jewelry or car and I will probably safe... But the others will probably kill me if they are crazy enough.

you know I lived in Miami Dade county for over 30 years and never once considered owning a gun. In fact the only people I knew who had guns either works in law enforcement or security. For some reason I never felt afraid there but Orlando is another story! People here show off there guns like it was a source of pride. The first time I ever had a gun pointed at me was here in suburban Orlando over a traffic incident. Everybody here seems to pack heat!

Well, here in Miami the jobs are so low-paying that noone gets that upset when they lose one.

You must be kidding. People flying the confederate flag are not a bunch of skinhead racist revolutionaries like the libs always try to portray them as. If you were blaring Spanish music fom your car and driving up and down a street with lots of Confederate flags that might be another story but it would be the same story as if you did the reverse in Miami Gardens or Goulds.

One of the reason's I can't wait to get to Miami is to start packing heat. I'm not a gun crazy lunatic, but here in Chicago there is a ban on handguns which, even though I'm a liberal person, is stupid cause, whether you believe it or not, that means only the people out to get you have guns (and illegal guns at that). When I get my money right in Miami, I plan on packing a 350 magnum for the household, a 9 for the car glove compartment, and, if ever own my own business, a shotty below the counter. Probably some others too, I'd like to get a Desert Eagle.
