I don't know about a house with a garden, but a couple of popular garden locations in Miami are
Fairchild Tropical Garden (http://www.fairchildgarden.org/aboutfairchild/weddings/ - broken link)and
Viscaya . You'd have to contact them about prices and see if they're in your friend's price range.
If you want a house with a garden, how about a wedding at a B&B? I don't know of any B&B's in Miami, but I know there are some in the Keys, particulary Key West, which could also be a good location for a wedding. Just a suggestion.

what heydade said. we utilized the winery for our daughter's wedding a few years back and it was a resounding success. the staff bent over backwards to accommodate last minute changes etc. and the venue has a certain understated elegance that is hard to beat.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is incredibly beautiful. Many people have their weddings there. It is in southern Coral Gables.

I second Pinecrest Gardens in Pinecrest. In Coral Gables there is the Biltmore Hotel, its not a garden but very pretty and expensive though.
