Default New job in FL City...where to live??

I have been offered a job in Florida City. I am a single woman (50+) and would like to live somewhere quiet and safe, well, I suppose everyone wants safe. I will be renting and hope to find a roommate. We would need a 2 bedroom 2 bath place. What areas would you suggest to start looking? I don't mind a drive, but not to Miami.

Try East of Turnpike in Homestead. Try looking in Keys Gate they have gated condos there that are pretty safe.
