doggiebus, finally got ahold of someone about my broken in mailbox and they said it wasnt their responsibility and although the box is federal property the lock isnt so we have to go down to the post office and pay to have them put a new lock on it. the black woman on the phone was RUDE AS HELL and acted like she was doing me a favor just talking to me. "aiiight?" gotta love the ghettoness.

i swear, even the simplest things require so much effort here. no wonder people live in ghetto conditions here. the public infrastructure is so convoluted and screwed up and disfunctional that you cant get even the slightest thing done without putting in tons of effort because no one else wants to do their job.

Question .... why do we keep rehashing the same subjects here ... yourself , CIXel , Unixpilot , Tallrick and a few others , who the hell cares if people like Miami , why do you and the mentioned people seem to be so adamant about this issue and why do you guys seem to take such an intolerant posture when others do express like for Miami .... I do not get it ?

There are a few other posters on here that are borderline racist but you three guys seem to be intelligent and have heads on their shoulders ... why spend so much time on one subject ... again I do not get it ?

I am in Houston on a business trip .... why I am spending so much time on this forum .... don't get that either ?

Anyhow gotta go to work !!!
Well, I don't hate Miami overall, I have said that before. There are things I do like about Miami, but they are out weighed by my dislikes of my home town. I live in a good area as many know, but it doesn't matter where you live because you still deal with the issues of Miami when you walk out of your house. Here is what I like about Miami. I like that we have great dining options, I like that we are so close to the beach and the Keys, I like that we have great shopping, I like that if I need to get something like toothpaste at 3 am I can, I like that if I want to take a cruise I don't have to fly before getting to the port, I like that there are many different types of food from around the world here (maybe not great, but it is here).

But then I hate other things like the traffic, crime, the weather, the lack of cool weather, that we only have two seasons, the lack of great customer service, rude people, hurricanes, the me me me mentality of many people, I hate how many Miamians try to be something they are not (If you can't afford that Fendi bag, don't buy a fake Fendi we know it is fake, it just tells us more about you), how packed restaurants are on the weekend (at least a hour if not more wait just about every place), I hate the lack of community, I hate that we don't get to know our neighbors (not every where, as I know my neighbors), I hate that the parking lots of some places are so packed during the week you can't get a spot, I hate that I can't leave my windows open at night during the winter months because of the fear that someone is going to crawl through the window.

Well I can go on an on, but as you can see I don't hate Miami. In my travels, I have learned that there are better places to live in my opinion. You know 15 years ago I thought Miami was still a great place to be, but it has changed and it isn't a place to be for me anymore. I am tired of always looking over my shoulder.

To your second question, I have learned that when people first move to a new city its like a new toy, everthing is great with it. But after awhile that new toy loses the sparkle and that new toy isn't so great. I have learned that some of these people that post on here are new to the city or they came from places that is not great (Cuba, Detroit or a little town in Idaho). Of course Miami is going to be great for them. For instance someone coming from Cuba today, of course Miami is great in their opinion, look where he came from. Those that think Miami is so great, usually can be put into one of those two options, not always, but for the most part yes.

I just want people to have the real truth about Miami, not a view that is half the truth (the good side only). I have said this before when I ask questions about cities we are looking at moving to. I want to know the good, the bad and the ugly. So I try to do the same for those asking questions here, this is why I am here.

To your last question we don't stay on one topic usually for long, usually in a week we are on to something else. It all depends on what question someone posts on here? Or what new poll/study someone finds like "Miami is #1 for rudest drivers."

I hope this helps.

Why am I not surprised, hummm. The simplest things here turn out to be the hardest things sometimes. Now how long is it going to them get out there to put a new lock on, probably 2 weeks right if not longer?

Alright doggiebus you just said that their are better places to live in your opinion, again you have the right not to like a place or to like a place more but when you guys post you sometimes exaggerate alot of things and make Miami look worse in some things than it actually is, and sometimes do it obnoxiously, Cixel and all the other negative posters not everybody sees Miami as you guys do nor does the majority, You dont have to be from a poor country or setroit to like it here, you dont have to be a newbie or a real estate agent, ive traveled around the world and know there are better places to live, a job brought the family to Miami and make the best of it and like it here.
Oh and Cixel i just stated SF and New York Times but there are plenty of other news media sources that praise Miami and ther most negative article i have seen in the NYT about Miami was about the heavy construction making heavier traffic in DT, I get it here in my house and read it almost daily.

jdm, please tell me though. you constantly say i exaggerate. WHY would i exaggerate? if it wasnt so completely horrible here why would i bother even posting about it to warn others?

its plain to see im not making any of this up. i mean if i can rattle off endless amounts of detail about all the mayhem i see here and all you can come back with is 'youre exaggerating' it seems a little ridiculous.

why is it i see the same pattern over and over of people moving here and getting all bitter and jaded? people who come here optimistic with smiles on their faces and then 6 months later they dont have that same energy they had when they arrived and are constantly bitching about everything just like i am?
the thing is it doesnt matter if i post on these boards or not. the problem is with the people in miami and there are a hundred thousand others who are right behind me with the exact same gripes. i am so not in the minority here.

So you now the majority of almost three million Cixel!??!!?
And i can get almost anyone that sees both sides of Miami to agree that especially you two exaggerate alot of things here like the spanish, cixel has exaggerated plenty of stuff like the rudeness here, and again Cixel saying people get bitter and jaded?!?!?!?
Im sure some people do but its far from being everybody and if its just the people you know then you know what you dont know all of the people that move here, i thankfully know plenty of people that happily moved here and are not bitter or jaded!?!?
Cixel you may not be lying but you are surely exaggerating, you may not be happy but again not everybody nor the majority has your opinion

I have never exaggerated anything about "spanish". Find some place where I have said anything that is exaggerated. I don't, sorry I tell it like is, I don't need to exaggerate, Miami is what it is.
