I just moved down here from CT and am looking for a good VW mechanic for oil changes and timing belt replacement, does anyone have one they can refer me to?

For my VW's i just used a dealer. Depending on what year the car is a VW is just too complicated of a machine to be fooled around with by some mechanic. Even a oil change. But I had V8 Touareg and Jetta TDI. Not your ordinary engines.

It's a 2001 Jetta, but I'm not a big fan of dealerships and how much they charge. I had a great local mechanic back home and I'm trying to find one down here as well.

I just changed the water pump and timing belt on my 2001 VW Beetle for $480,$272 labor,$208 parts and taxes.I've had the same mechanic for almost 10 years and he kept my VW Jetta, that I bought new in 1999 alive 9 years until the transmission crapped out with 320,000 miles.
