Default Miami Restaurants open for Thanksgiving?

We're passing on the 'family' thing this year because, well, we don't want to be with them. And it's not really our family per se, but my brother's in-laws...so no loss there.

Anyone know of any decent restaurants (not on the beach or on Brickell or downtown) that are open for Thanksgiving? Looking for a regular menu, not a Thanksgiving buffet as I'm not a fan of Thanksgiving food.

Thanks.

PS: Already tried Thanksgiving - Miami Restaurants and Dining Out for Thanksgiving Restaurants in Miami/South Florida Area Gayot

PPS: I really hate this holiday. Havent enjoyed it for many years and wish we could just skip it altogether, which I know we could. But we may as well get a decent meal out of it and pretend it's not Thanksgiving.

If you want to skip it completely, going out to eat is not the way, as anyplace will have constant reminders of Thanksgiving. Why not skip dinner all together and go to a movie or something?

I don't have any recommendations but I feel the same way.

Because I want a nice meal , just not a Thanksgiving one surrounded by 'family.' And I know Thanksgiving will be 'in our face' wherever we go, but I'll be able to deal with the holiday better somewhere where we're 'anonymous'...if that makes any sense at all.

And the movie suggestion is great, only there's nothing out we want to see.

We're also volunteering at a residential living center for seniors for their Thanksgiving party. So, maybe that will help make the day not so ****ty too.

So you have nothing to give thanks for at all?

Just because I don't want to celebrate it and/or be with certain people doesn't mean I'm not grateful for things. You don't have to have a traditional turkey dinner to be thankful. We all do things in different ways; ways that work for each individual person.

Everyone has 363 other days in the year to express thanks. The Ghosts of the Pilgrims will probably be okay if people take a break and do their own thing.

Thanksgiving is usually a perfect day/night to go out and get some Chinese....

Yes the Chinese are usually open, not all, as some of them are more Americanized but many are.

Americanized = cheezeball, but it's a fun time to go to one of those places.
