Not 7 pesos, not even at La Lisa, 12 to 15 pesos. Vedado has nice areas, nothing to do with Hialeah. Problem are those "Palestinians" living in microbrigadas. I can't wait to get to El Cochinito, stunning waitresses, I love to invite them around. You don't have those blondes and trigueñas in Miami, they get fat and fluffy there. They become bad mouthed. What happens to Cuban girls in Hialeah and Miami? Granted they are not Cuban Preppys or Cuban Teeny Whoopers, but they loose all their manners there.

GymbuffIf the "melted condom story" was real, I'd be dead by now. I love street food in Havana, pizzas, empanadas, pastelitos, etc.

I would rather live in a nice house in Hialeah that have those Vedado pizzas at my fingertips. Just like I would rather pay to go to a concert in Miami than to go to a free concert at La Plaza de la Revolucion.

GymbuffConcerning the free concert there, If I ever went to watch those perverts playing there in Plaza, I'd puke right in the middle. I'd rather go to Casa de la Musica, Pedregal, Gato Tuerto, Diablo Tum Tum, La Macumba...Man, only creeps go there to Plaza convoked by Mass Organizations. Who wants to hear a Colombian Indian playing the flute, or Bosé, please...Problem in Havana is just the same problem than in Hialeah or Miami, low lifes, "chusmeria". They keep adavancing.

GymbuffGood concerts are not free here, in some cases you pay 100 or 200 cucs for entrance and a bottle of rum and three tropicolas. From 25 to 50, etc.

Nosvilgildo, I don't care for Juanes but I'm not sure your musical knowledge is that great if you can't tell a guitar from a flute. But if we are gonna bash borrowed traditions, at least flutes don't throw dead chickens on the streets.

Regarding the original post, I really hope they reconsider moving to Hialeah if they are not hispanic. There are more diverse places in Miami like Miami Shores, Coral Gables and Kendall

I think some of the worst Cubans around are those that go to Miami nowadays. The hardworking Cubans of old dont exist. Everytime in La Habana I would meet one who returned to visit their family, they were very "cheo" but throwing money around to make out they were rich or something. In the time I was there the ones who successfully made it were the most "camaján", or sneaky, and concerned with their appearance and superficial things. They also stopped talking to their Cuban friends and even relatives after a while.

Tropical The hardworking Cubans of old left the country 40 or 50 years ago. They don't visit Cuba. The ones that visit Cuba are very recent immigrants from Hialeah. They dress weirdly and are very noisy and flamboyant. The only people distantly related to Cubans of old in Cuba are now assimilated into the New Class.Quite a feat. The remnants of the white middle class that were squashed and humiliated by authorities during the 60's, attacked by blacks and mulattoes, made their way back into the top, so they don't leave as before.
