Miamians, what the heck happened today and yesterday I thought there was all this belly-achin' about the abnormally high December heat and all of a sudden all h**l broke loose

According to the Miami Herald this massive storm caught everyone by surprise? Did a tornado really touch down within city limits? How much rain did your area receive?

Everyone okay? The Weather Channel seems to be in hype mode, the Herald seems to be framing this weather event as catching everyone by surprise...yikes!

2009 is going out with a kick and scream....

The weather people showed a video of a Gust Nato they called it. It is sort of like a tornado but its not connected up top they said. A person was on the floor getting pushed along with other things.

I live in Homestead. We got 5" of rain yesterday and some gusty winds. Some of the trees in the Publix parking lot across from the new Homestead Hospital were blown over yesterday.
