Hello,
Is there a 24 hour public transit system, especially one that could get me from Miami beach back to the city in the middle of the night/veeery early morning?
Thank you!!

No and if there was you would be crazy to ride it in teh middle of the night, espicially if you are female as your name suggests.

What's with the incorrect statements? tell that to the millions of females that ride the subway in the middle on night in NYC.

I don't think the buses run 24 hours except for very limited routes. I know the Metros don't run 24 hours.

You could try renting a bike and riding across the Venetian Causeway, but don't do it when drunk or you run the chance of getting a BUI.

If there is one, it is not recommended. This is not Europe or NYC where public transportation is packed especially on weekend early hours. The train stations and bus stops are usually empty and dangerous

How do you justify those statements? can you even justify them? or is just what you ASSUME or THINK or what you have heard from people that probably say that only from what they ASSUME or THINK? From other posts posted by you, it would make anyone think that you don't use the mass transit and you have also stated that you don't know many people that use the mass transit. SO, what makes you say bus stops are dangerous? ALSO, the only places that are dangerous and anything crime related can occur are GHETTO areas. How do you know that she will be in any ghetto surrounding going back from Miami Beach to Miami? First of, in Miami Beach no worries AT ALL, than all that is left is to see where in Miami she lives or will be getting off the bus. If she lives in the ghetto, I'm positive she knows how to live in the ghetto and what to and not do. Where to walk, where to and not go, how to be aware of her surroundings and everything else (she is probably known in the neighborhood so they won't mess with her, that's how it is). If it's in a nice neighborhood, than no worries. So, I don't see how you are recommending her to NOT go on a bus.

Where in Miami are do want to get off? where is your destination? I know you said "city" so I would guess somewhere Downtown, but you could have just said "city" to mean just Miami because it is a CITY.

Thank you all for the input!
I'm not sure where I would be getting off...wherever I end up calling home! I'm just worried that if I get off of work (if I end up working on Miami beach) extra SUPER late, I won't be able to GET home... :/

Are you going to be living in Miami or Miami Beach? or in a a different city?

If you are going to be living in Miami Beach, you don't have to worry about anything as it's all pedestrian friendly and you walk to anywhere from anywhere . But if you are going to live in Miami, how do you plan on going to work? After you answer those questions I'll be able to help you a lot more and throughly.

I'm thinking probably just Miami, because it seems like that would be more inexpensive (i'm working on an EXTREMELY low budget right now and I've found that Miami Beach is wicked expensive, no?). I was planning on using public transit to get to work, as well. Thanks!
