Default What Are The Big Companies in Miami?

I was wondering what the job market is for CPAs/finance people in Miami? What are the big companies that hire around there (I know BK is pretty big there)? And aside from the big companies, are there a lot of smaller companies around there or is Miami a bad choice for CPAs?

Zeta,

At Barnes and Noble there is a book called the "florida job bank book" they have one for all the US states. In there they have a listing of ALL companies in a given state broken down by city or major metro area. I think this would be your best bet to be honest.

Hope that helps,

American Airlines is the largest private employer in Miami. Of course most of these jobs are air field ops based but I am sure they have some corporate jobs here. Burger King has its worlds HQ in Miami. Almost all the major cruise lines also have their HQ's in Miami. Most large spanish television channels and tv studios have a large presence in Miami also. There are many banks, investment firms etc.. For a CPA/Finance type thing Miami is no Boston, Chicago or NYC but there are jobs out there but many tend to lean on the international side, Caribbean/Latin America.

Lennar, Ryder, Royal Carribean, Bacardi, IVAX, Mas Tec, Burger King, Bank United Financial, Carnival, World Fuel Systems. Although not based here American Airlines is the largest private sector employer in Miami. There are also lots of multi national companies that base their Latin American headquarters in the metro area as well.

If you are looking for CPA jobs, hit Coral Gables. You will find a hundred different firms in one block. Although the economy being the way it is, it will be tough to find a job in that field. Good luck!
