^^^Oh, the guy that put my tints on my car said, a cop hung out down the road from his shop and wrote tickets for illegal tints all the time. Hence why I didn't get what I wanted, but at least I will never get a ticket for that.

Any traffic officer can stop any vehicle at his discretion & ask the driver or the occupants of a vehicle to step out...

Tinted glass is needed, especially in high sunshine areas, like FL...

Is there any FL traffic rule to specify up to what grade of tint
can a car owner go legally..?

There are classes of tint... There should be a specific rule...

There should also be forgery-proof microchiped license plates...

Heydade, nope I just got one the other day from an FHP on US1. However, its due to my tinted windshield. He said just get it removed and I said "no, I'll pay the ticket". No big deal. I used to get them all the time when I had my mirror tinted windshield years ago but it was $50 then. I paid $129 recently.

In ca the cops are nailing people left & right for front side tinted windows. Its a revenue maker. I got a fix it ticket last aug for tinted windows after driving for 6 yrs with no problems. I peeled off the tint & had the local police sign my proof of corrections & i paid a thieving 25.00 fine. It will cost me 40.00 to retint both windows but im not going to bother with it.

Your best bet is to fix the problem, then go to pre-trial and plead "no-contest". Tell the magistrate that you removed the tint and corrected the problem. Then go from there... they'll either dismiss it or give you guidance on what to do next.

Is there any classification of tint..?

Are there any grades approved by authorities..?

The term "visible " is flexible...
Apart from "mirror grade " tint,.almost in all other grades, the driver inside is "visible"...

Yes, there is a specification for minimum % light transmittance through the window glass including any films that might be affixed. Statutes & Constitution :View Statutes : flsenate.gov it is there for you to look up.

If you want your tints keep them, and pay the fine it is no points. If you go to court it would be for a points ticket, if your record isn't bad, plead no contest and they will make you pay the fine and get no points, it's just a money thing. If you will remove the tints, I believe there is a certain procedure where you have a police dept. inspect your car (paying a small fee, of course) and they certify it and you take that proof to the court and pay a reduced fine, probably specified in the same law.

Unless you have loads of free time during the day, In the end it is cheaper to pay the $114 online and not waste time. I just paid $60 to reinstate my license. It wasn't my fault, I paid the ticket on time but the computer was down the day I paid it. They gave me forms to take to the DL office, the line was out the door and into the street and that was before noon! I would have been there the entire day so I go home and called them, their system only lets them do it paying the fee, oh well.
