We are planning to move to Miami...work is on Collins avenue on Miami beach.
I am looking to rent a single family home around $2000/month rent within 30 minute drive time. A grade school district/family security is very important.
Any leads will be greatly appreciated.

I posted this on another thread

The Best Public HS in Miami-Dade is Palmetto Senior High (Pinecrest). There are a few other great HS but they are either by a lottery based system (Coral Reef HS) to get in. The other top HS you have to try out and be excepted New World School of the Arts in downtown, MAST Academy on Key Biscayne, DASH not sure exactly where it is. Not many great A schools as Florida is not known for its schools. If you want your child to have the best education send them to a great Prep School.

I agree with the previous poster entirely, but the only public schools even remotely close to acceptable are in Pinecrest, which is unbelievably expensive. As far as the "A" rating, that is a joke, it is based on FCAT scores, a joke test. Look at things that acutally matter, call schools and ask what percentage of thier students are getting accepted to four year colleges! Look up graduation rates! And for elementary and middle, go to greatschools.net and look up what parents have to say about them. Savvy parents have plenty of options in Dade county.
