How fast were you going?

I have family in Milford... never looked at the housing prices, but it seems like a really nice area. Milford Days and the Civil War re-enactment are fun too!

I am an engineer and in a dilemma to choose between two job offers, one from GM (Milford, MI) and the other one from a mid-size company in Natick, MA. Both interest me - I like Boston more, but the housing price there is scary; the job at GM is closer what I learned at school, but it seems to me the economy in MI, particularly Detroit is not doing good these days. BTW, I am currently in Albany, NY. I am married and planning to settle down soon and have a baby late next year.

Go with Brighton, Hartland or Howell - Livingston County taxes are a lot cheaper than Milford's in Oakland County. Oakland County taxes are outrageous. Fenton is also great and you'll get a great deal on a house and low Genesee County taxes.

My wife and I are looking in the Milford area and really want to try the village & historic home life style. We are not sure if the life style is for us but would really like to rent or even lease with the option to buy and try it. Anyone renting in the Village of Milford??? Must be at least 3 bedrooms and two baths.
