Well after saving up for about 1 1/2 years for my move back to MI, I arrived at my parents cabin in Oscoda Wed night!! I am so excited to be back in MI!!

Already I have had such great experiences being back in my home state. While raking the leaves and pine needles, some random guy stopped by and offered to let me use his Leaf Rake (the one you pull behind a lawn mower). Never met the guy till that day. He just drove by and seen me raking and offered. And then I went down to the boat docks and again someone I have never met struck up a conversation with me about fishing and we chatted for about 30 mins. Those are the types of things I missed about living in MI. They always talk about southern hospitality, but I rarely experienced any of that living in Tampa or Atlanta for 5 1/2 years.

And as far as work goes, I changed my address to my friends in Birmingham and also created another online account with my friends address in Grand Rapids. I did this because I will be happy living in Metro Detroit or Grand Rapids, and well because there is no work in Oscoda at all. And once I get a job I will just move to where ever it is since I only unpacked what I needed.

I did the change of address on my resumes on Monday June 7th. I have received 11 calls about openings and I have an interview in Livonia on Wednesday and I have another interview in Grand Rapids on Thursday!!

So hopefully something comes of one of those! If not, my hopes are high and I am positive and confident I will find work fairly soon!!

I lived in the south for 5 1/2 years and haven't been back to MI since. I forgot how green and beautiful everything is. In the south everything is brown and dead and the people suck!!

I am SOOOO happy to be back home to the GREATEST STATE IN THE UNION!!

I stand up and say HELL YEA I'M PROUD TO BE FROM MICHIGAN!!!

I hope the recovery for Michigan will be soon. Michigan is one of the heartlands in America. I_Want_Snow that was a very positive post. Wish that others had such positive thoughts and motivations about there states. Because recovery and revitalization starts with us all. God bless your residents, the officials and help them to find the right solution to your state's economic woes. Alot of these problems hit America hard. Too bad everyone was so greedy and involved in there own self-preservation. There is nothing wrong with preserving ones self. It is just that everything done was morally and ethically wrong.

Went for a drive this morning and saw 10 deer just walking down the side of the road. I also saw a handful of wild Turkeys. And I forgot all about the black squirrels they have around here in Oscoda also.

Today I am packing a cooler and heading down to the docks to do some fishing and relaxing... Man do I LOVE MICHIGAN!! Then after that going to head down to the Lumberman's Monument, The Largo Springs, then going to head up and take a walk along the shore of Lake Huron since it's only about 5 miles away!

It just DOES NOT GET ANY BETTER THAN MICHIGAN!!

Snow is a thing that is like rain, a little is nice but when its day after day of gloomy no sun snow and you are chipping off ice to get your wippers to work and leaning in the drivers seat to see out the window and shoveling your roof off and trying to not dig up shingles to get rid of ice dams, dodging snow plows and digging out of snow banks, it may not hold the same shine as it did in your mind.

On my trip last week I saw homes that I knew the buyers bought for the 70 thousand mark put three years of work and remodeling into and the bank sold one for 2 thousand on a repo. Nope not kidding two thousand. Its that bad kids. I still would not buy in MI as I think it has a bit to fall. If you do be prepaired to sit on it for twenty years.
Well I was born and raised in MI and spent my first 30 years here. I moved south because I thought I would like FL and the beaches. I was greatly disappointed in FL. WAY TOO HOT and HUMID, over crowded, and there is no change of seasons which sucks. I absolutely hated FL and GA.

In my personal opinion the south sucks because once summer hits you are stuck in the house because its too hot to do anything outside.

You can't beat summers in MI and as far as the snow goes, I LOVE IT! I go snowmobiling, ice fishing, skiing, etc.
