I have high speed internet, im in northern michigan, and its NOT by charter. and we have NO problems with ours, and im out in the woods.

When they had to come out 4 times in 6 months to fix splitters they installed and then have the nerve to charge me to fix something that was broke on their end. At least I ended up with 2 months of free cable.

I was signed up for 10 mbps in both areas and it'c cheaper here than with Charter and my downloads are much faster.

Also, AT&T is very limited in northern Michigan. It's not offered in Gaylord or along the 75 corridor. Only other option was Verizon DSL.
