I've only been to Bad Axe on vacation, but I can tell you a little about it. It's a smaller town (pop. 3,462) although it's the largest town in Huron County. It definitely has a small town feel, so if that's what you're looking for, it will be perfect. There are many new homes, shopping centers and it's a short distance away from beautiful Lake Huron. It's not necessarily "booming", but it's not depressed either. As far as schools go, I won't say anything because I have no idea. You should check out GreatSchools.net if you want reliable school info. Good luck on your move!

Default Lived in Bad Axe

I grew up in Bad Axe. I moved away several years ago, and I couldn't wait to get out of there. Now, though, I would love to go back. "Don't know what you got till it's gone," I guess. It is very quiet and peaceful. Personally, I think it is the best small town. The schools are good, and shopping is okay. The nearest mall is about an hour away in Bay City or Saginaw. Parks and Rec is great. Festivals are great. I would looove to move back.

Default Bad Axe? Good Choice

I Live in Caseville Michigan, about half an hour away from Bad Axe. Caseville, with a population of only 887 people, is nothing compared to Bad Axe. We moved up to Michigan from Denville, New Jersey. The feel is completely different. Towns are small, people are scarce compared to what I came from. But I have no desire to move back. With it's small twon feel, and kind hearted people, Michigan maybe my home for a good while. I Have friends in Bad Axe School, many recommend it. The Sports system is great, and the size of eac hclass is not to large. I go to Caseville Highschool, and with a grduating class of 27, Bad Axe has us beat. In Huron County, we also have something called a You Choose Program, so if you or your kids do not like the Bad Axe School, there is an array of schools to choose from. I chose Caseville particularly becuase of its small class size. More individual class time.
I Hope This Helps You, I Wish Your Family The Best Of Luck.
