i appreciate your supreme sacrifice of dating a beautiful woman. i am not sure how that fits into the topic unless it a trophy statement. i have always found trophy women to be high maintenance.
as to white flight have not had that in 40 years. actually the reverse is occuring, yuppies are coming back to some cities. and without kids bek everybody is getting divorced.
as to detroit. its got problems, like NO, atlanta, memphis. dirty laundry stuff brother dont put in on white folks. it don't belong there. if there are no white folks around its not a racial problem is it? i thought the white folks were the problem, they gone why isn't it better.

Have you never gone to the D and hanged out with black people? I am smooth with 1 black person. But if you add 5 more black people. I will get jumped, beat up and mugged. Just because I am white.

The truth is as an individual a black person will want to escape this horrible environment. But as a group, they do nothing but keep themselves in that horrible situation. Sell drugs, get criminal records. And while on the short term sellings drugs is a good way to get money, long term its not near as good an idea as going to a collage and getting a diploma, even a community collage.

The truth is if you went into the hood with your "stuck up", looking down on black people attitude, you yourself would get beat up. Infact you would be better of saying your racist and chances are you might get some respect then.

Talk all you want about racism but it sounds to me like you haven't been on the streets and actually lived there.

If I am out minding my own business with my family, and suddenly when it is apparent who I am with... the majority of the time, the stares and rolling of eyes come from Black females. I have noticed, my husband has noticed it too.

Younger black men will usually keep stepping, not missing a beat. Same for younger non blacks. Some older people (black and white) seems genuinely surprised or confused (and then embarrassed when they mistakenly assume we are not a couple.

I have more than once noticed a younger black female (younger I mean 30's and 40's) look at me with total contempt for no action on my part, other than walking through the grocery store with my husband and daughter.

I know what a look of total contempt is. If I told you that a white person looked at me with total contempt, I believe that you would trust that I know what contempt looks like and would not question me. Because I say this look of contempt comes from a person of color, suddenly I am making stereotypes.

Pretty amazing that you can read their minds like that.....especially the part about what they're "mistakenly assuming". I'll take your word that you can identify a "look of utter contempt" is, but being able to tell what people are assuming? Sounds like you may be seeing what you want to see sometimes.
