Coming to Ann Arbor for a UM game in early October. We're flying in on Thursday morning, so we'll have 1/2 the day Thursday, all day Friday and half a day Sunday to site see (Saturday is all about football). Looking for some fun fall activities, since I now live in Florida and we don't have a fall season. Any good local cider mills? Any idea's would be appreciated
Wiards cider mill (look that up), Domino's Farms (not a cider mill but is an excellent petting farm). If you like museums, Ann Arbor has some excellent ones for Archaeology and Natural History (excuse me if I'm wrong with the exact names). Anyway, at least one of them is complete free for admission and is replete with a wealth of information. They are both located near the downtown core (in the U of M area actually). Ann Arbor is a very pleasant community with lots of independent art galleries and a small but pleasant pedestrian / outdoor cafe type culture.

I agree with the suggestions above, Wiards is a fine apple orchard (though I'm partial to Apple Charlie's, but that would be too far away for you!). For a nice stroll and some beautiful foliage, you can check out another favorite place (it's free):

123-acre arboretum features 10 acre restored prairie, over 500 wood plant species, lilac collection, more then a mile frontage on the Huron River. The glacially carved terrain dips 180' from Geddes Road to the river. Micro habitats include Appalachian Glen and Magnolia Cove.
Good places to check out some music are The Ark and The Blind Pig. I don't know if you want some restaurant recommendations, but here they are anyway! For a fancy night out with a changing menu of French food and a fantastic wine selection, I love The Earle. Looks like they've added a stellar happy hour: The Earle Restaurant > Wine Bar
My favorite Italian restaurant is Palio (on Main Street) - sit up on the roof if they'll let you and it's a nice evening. For cheaper eats, Pizza House has awesome Chipati bread and salads. I also always have to get the Count Twists at Good Time Charley's whenever I visit. Great sandwiches at either Zingerman's or Amer's deli's - I always ask for Challah bread though because any of the crusty breads tear up my mouth.
If I think of anything else, I'll let you know. I'm jealous...I wish I was going sometime soon!
Thanks!! I'm really looking forward to seeing fall again. Are the trees normally changed by then? I haven't been up in fall since I was a little kid, so I don't really remember.

Check out the Arborweb web site. link. It will list, by category, any special festivals, fairs or events going on in and around Ann Arbor that weekend.

Probably not much yet, usually by the second or third week of October you get good color, but you should see some starting. It will be pretty anyway!

The leaves might be just starting to change in early October, but it seems like it's more late October. It seems to take forever to come, and then a week later the leaves have all fallen.
You'll definitely have that "fall feeling" in early October though, with a slight chill in the air, the smells of fall, and the sounds of university fight songs filling the air.

The Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village and the Ford Rouge Factory Tour are all outstanding. (There is an Imax theater there, too.P) They are in Dearborn which is only 20-30 minutes from Ann Arbor.
