Hi, I don't know anything about this and I'm from Ypsilanti.
Around here, history lives on with people's underwear. Two artists are selling hot pink underwear screen-printed with the word "Ypsipanty" as part of an effort to keep alive the city's historical place in the underwear business. Linette Lao and Mark Maynard have sold nearly 200 pair of Ypsipanties. "We were just thinking about Ypsi-positive things that we could make," Maynard told The Ann Arbor News for Sunday editions. To them, he said, the idea was "fun and playful without being disrespectful." Hot Pink Underwear Sold To Keep Ypsilanti History Alive - Local News Story - WDIV Detroit |

In the early 70s when I was a student at EMU, I had a poster that was a reproduction of an Ypsilanti Underwear ad featuring a drawing of a woman in turn-of-the-century dress . Their slogan was:
"Never rip and never tear ... Ypsilanti Underwear." =^..^= |
