I just got done talking to a woman at AAA. She lives in davison which is just north of pontiac.
I told her about moving to south carolina and she responded that it is all the calls she is taking these days, I.E. people moving out of state.
As newt said on face the nation detroit ten years ago had the highest income per capita in the nation now we are at sixtyfive, and there were one million two hundered thousand people, now there are nine hundred thousand.
Any way this woman told me that on her block alone there were eight homes for sale and nothing moving, the prices have dropped drasticaly and some were just walking away and leaving them to the bank. Detroit leads the nation in forclosures. She told me that Lows and Homedepot were coming in to the area and there were ten thousand people applying for the jobs.
She said her husband who works for chrystler is getting offerd a buy out,of 100000 dollars. after unk sam gets his share it is not much you can do but move and try to find work.
GM today posted profits for the third quarter, but this is paper.
They do this by laying off people and shutting down plants and building less autos. It is much like the republicans saying we are in the greatest economy in history, On paper. In reality we are all going down the tubes.
Bush is a puppet of big oil plain and simple.
As W said, fool me onc..... fool me....... you cant get foold again.
The two big stores decided to back out of the project because of the bad shap of michigan.
This state is headed for a brick wall if someting is not done.
I am afraid this ressission that michigan is in is going to make the early eights look like a picknick.

Hmmm.... I do not argue that people are leaving Michigan, and specifically, the city of Detroit. However, Davison is my home town, and even this year they reported growth, not a loss. Genesee County as a whole is growing. The city of Flint is decreasing, but the suburbs are growing. And, Davison is about an hour north of Pontiac, and is not in any way considered part of the Detroit area. It is only 5 miles from Flint, the 3rd (used to be 2nd) largest city in Michigan.
