Thanks for the pics, I really like the history of the Soo. Is there a historic museum for the city?

The River of History Museum would be a good place for that. River of History Museum - Sault Ste Marie

Just wondering where the OP chose to live 6 mos. down the road.

Especially interested to know the tax ramifications of living in ON if working in the U.S.....if indeed that was their decision. Does Canada take the same chunk out of a U.S. paycheck for someone that commutes across the border for work?

There are many thousands of people that come across the border every day to work.Windsor to Detroit is the best example I know of. For the most part, jobs pay more in Canada than in the US, so I would think more are staying on the Canada Side these days. Depending on who you work for makes a lot of difference . Multi national companies on both sides and people sometimes have no choice where they work, due to the needs and or their specialty. For many years because of a strong US dollar it was different, not so any more, besides, there are more jobs in Canada that need filling , and ,at higher pay.
