The hospital is great. It has some of the best Doctors and they have a great bedside manner. The hospital has been listed several times in the top 100 in the U.S. In December, they are opening a wellness center which is suppose to be HUGE. It will have an olympic sized pool as well as all the latest in exercise, including spinning classes. There will be childcare on-site and the kids will also be exercising! They will have a Smoothie bar and cooking classes too.
The Public High School is good with top-notch teachers. They also are pretty good in sports. Last year, the boys Soccer team went to Districts and I know Basketball did a few years and I have a feeling that their baseball team will have a good year coming up. There is a Private High School as well called Providence. The kids are academically challenged and are usually a full grade ahead of the public school. The only sport they don't have is Football. As you can see, there are 2 great choices in educating kids in town depending on their needs!
You will have your pick of houses to choose from. There are a whole slew of them for sale and it's a buyers market. There are 2 areas one is slangly called "Hollander's Heights" and the other is around the streets of Apache and Iroquis. They are the more ritzy areas but taxes tend to be higher. You could pay apx. $4,700 per year for a $180,000 house. Not cheap at all! Everyone complains, but nobody does anything about trying to change it.
The community is friendly and conservative in nature. There are quite a few Dutch. The churches in the are are: 4 Christian Reformed, 1 HUGE Wesleyan (very contemporary) with a lot of youth attending, 2 Baptists, Methodist, Reformed, Congregational, Catholic, Community and a few other smaller churches as well.
The town is lucky for being so small, thanks to Gerber Baby Food Company. There is a lot of money because of this in the area. The Gerber Family has given so much to the town! There is also a Community Foundation that gives. We have a Arts Center for Performance, biking trails (not yet complete), a skate park, Branstrom park with hiking trails, an Arts Center for classes and Community classes such as photography, water aerobics, kids club soccer, tennis, swimming, etc. etc. All in all, I pretty great place to live!

Here are couple of websites that may be helpful with school information.

GreatSchools.net

Schooldigger.com -- Search and compare elementary, middle, and high schools.

Good luck!
