You obviously MUST live in Holland (near Hope?). At least Saugatuck is not far away.

If you wanna know anything abou southwest lower michigan hit me up.
Where in Tennessee are you looking? Because Tennessee as a State has the same unemployment rate as Michigan this year, and most of the cities (Memphis, Knoxville, Nashville) have higher unemployment than several Michigan cities (GR, Lansing, Ann Arbor). Just wondering who's feeding you the line about employment there...

You can see it all at bls.gov.

its been a minute but i havent forgot. if youre gonna publically attack me, im gonna publically reply.

of my real close friends, half of them are from michigan. if you think i am a michigan basher, you definitly dont wanna hear the truth outta those guys! and if you think i'm hard on michigan, then you definitly dont wanna go to the houston boards ...

all of my crowd are educated and do quite well for ourselves. we just dont live in delusion, and we dont try to delude others.

you cant refute any of my points on solid grounds, so you have to attack me personally even though i never personally attacked you (against forum rules btw). truth hurts, doesnt it? you dont know me, so dont pretend.

OK, I will refute your posts on solid grounds. At one point you said, 'The last time people protested they were crushed by tanks.'

Many people have protested about many different things in Michigan since the riots in 1967 and have not been crushed by tanks.

So please stop spreading disinformation.

Your irrational seething hatred of Michigan makes it sound like some swarthy Michigan hockey player stole your girl or something.

Don't simultaneously come crying to the moderators for being attacked, and then go on a counter-attack.

This is not the Houston boards, this is the Michigan board. Please return to the topic and stop hijacking informational threads.

wasnt crying about anything or requesting anything boss. i just defended myself and reported the original post after the fact, to keep everything on the up and up.

i am a vocal dissenter for sure, but i still respect forum rules.

i respect that you are the moderator and i am not antagonizing you, but what i find hijacks a thread very quickly is when an off-topic reply to a thread comment is NOT done so through private messaging, but rather public. what else is to be expected but then a counter reply that is left publically on the thread in question. this is only moreso if the off-topic replys are meant to be incindiary.

again with all due respect, another habit that hijacks threads, is 3rd parties that jump into comments left in reply between two posters having a discussion, and again, especially when those comments are meant to be incindiary.

the heat will never end if the flames are fanned.

i only defend myself because i am put in the position to do so. but i am more than ready for this thread to continue on course.

You live in Houston yet insert yourself into discussions about Michigan, from a viewpoint of bashing your old home state. It only causes problems on this forum, in every city and state section, when an expatriate decides to come back (virtually) and take some last parting shots. I laugh to hear that people in the Houston section sit around and take pot shots at Michigan. Such a great place, but nothing better to do apparently?

And with all due respect, I'll decide what constitutes hijacking a discussion. It's not a glamorous job, and I'd sometimes rather not be the bad guy, but that's what they've asked me to do.

It is sadly true about Flint, crime is high, the police force is small, very few jobs. Although the downtown area is looking better with the college students making most of the people you see there. I am very sad the way my home town has gone downhill for the vibrant city is was in my youth. When General Motors quit the city, it killed Flint.
But the area outside of Flint has some wonderful small towns. You'll love the green. Everything is so green here. We have enough rain that it keeps the grass and trees healthy. Lots of places to visit on holiday too.
