Seriously though, have you guys ever seen "An Inconvenient Truth"? It's the Al Gore movie about global warming. Well, it seems like when the ice all melts, Michigan will be washed away anyway, so let's enjoy it while we can. We can just make it one big party state and have a bunch of pre-Apocolypse parties

Of course, I'm moving to CA and then, Hawaii, so can you throw me a life vest?

Actually it looks global warming is shrinking the lakes. So instead of drowning we'll get a pretty desert. Like the painted desert in Arizona.

As a new MI resident, I just made the drive into Canada yesterday, to see Niagara Falls. I noticed a TON of trucks crossing into and out of the US. Would they be the ones bringing trash into MI every day?

I'm serious here. I'm new here, but we were wondering why SO MANY TRUCKS were going into and out of the US. Most with Canadian plates. The wait for trucks at the border was miles long. In cars, we drove right up.

The Detroit-Windsor crossing handles $BILLIONS in commerce between Canada-U.S.-Mexico (yes Mexico), and is one of the busiest trade crossings between the U.S. and another country. The $135 Billion in goods that travel between Canada and Detroit is more than twice as high as the $55 Billion in goods the U.S. ships to China.

If you ever get a chance to drive to Toronto, you will see miles and miles of manufacturing plants on the outskirts of Toronto (much like suburban Detroit). Their biggest crossings are through Detroit. Plus, trucks were probably waiting because they now have stricter guidelines when entering the U.S., ever since 9/11.
