Brighton, by way of Waterford, Ann Arbor, east side of Detroit, and originally the wilds of Ypsilanti.

No longer in Michigan, but I spent most of my life in what they called the Michiana area -- centered on South Bend and including the surrounding Michigan (and Indiana) counties.

Grew up in White Pigeon, down in St. Joseph County, just north of the Indiana line. Lived in Constantine, Three Rivers, and Niles before I left.

I just moved here last July from California. We lived in Clarkston up until April of this year, then moved to Royal Oak. Clarkston was very nice but we prefer the more urban feel that Royal Oak gives, and yet we live in a much more kid-friendly neighborhood.

I'm also pretty familiar with Greenville, which is northeast of Grand Rapids. My parents and sister live there, and it's a quaint little town.

For a second I thought you were saying the Town of Michiana...now that would be a childhood. Fantastic town. Love the houses, the trees, the beach!!! It's like stepping back 100 years.

When I realized what you mean my Michiana...I got it.

I think it is Constantine that does the Christmas Eve votive bags or jugs the entire stretch of their main drag. Lovely.

Default Houghton, MI

I'm 7th generation Michiganian. Our family has roots going in Oakland County going back to 1821 (farmers, on Auburn Road, west of Pontiac).

Grew up in Waterford, went to MSU, lived in Chicago awhile, and now in the UP. (The other half of the family were trappers and then miners outside of Crystal Falls, near the WI-MI border, until WWI, then they all headed downstate to work for Henry Ford).

I'm in Portage/Kalamazoo area, and I love it here!

The only bad thing is that it's in Michigan and it snows here...
I love my state, but I'm moving to Texas soon... I'll always come back in the summer though, you can't beat a Lake Michigan Sunset!
