We're in West Bloomfield. Beautiful area, I just wish I had realized how isolated it is. I'm REALLY missing drive thru Starbucks and lots of restaurants, but getting used to having to drive everywhere to get places.

Sometimes, it's actually a nice change of pace for this life-long city girl!

Will a bearskin rug do??? LOL! We're currently drowning here in Ohio but, I might be able to find the box with it in it lol.....JK, we don't have a bearskin rug. Oh, oh! I have a red throw rug.....Will that be OK?? Hehe! I'm with ya on your suburbia comment. I spent my early childhood in a fairly sizable city in NY but, have lived in little farm towns since then.....Until 4 yrs. ago, when we moved here. I've realized that big(ger) city living is not for me. I'd much prefer most of my neighbors be 4-legged, not 2-legged. Best of luck to you on your schooling! You really should visit the U.P. sometime. It really is a truly wonderful and majestic place!!

Sorry about all that flooding there in Ohio.. My in-laws actually had to drive through all that on their way home from Tennessee.

We had some flooding in peoples basements in Dearborn (3-4 feet)... Yeah I know it's not the same as Ohio, but excessive water is only fun at a water park.

I promise to visit the UP someday. Maybe I'll bring a yurt along... and some goats. And then throw away my blackberry!

The water was pretty bad here. Not as bad here as it is/was about 15 mins north of us. Ottawa, Findlay, Bluffton....all got it really bad. You're right, excess water is not usually a good thing.
At least, in the U.P., you'll stay dry in your yurt. What ya gonna use the goats for? Ya better bring lotsa food for them....There's not much green grass for them to nibble lol.
Did your in-laws make it home O.K.??? I sure hope so.

Have lived in Ludington, Lansing and Ill. Now live in Traverse City and don't ever plan on moving.
