Not so Scott ! Much of lower Michigan has humid summers, damp winters. All a Midwestern thing, which Lower Michigan is a part of. ( Tornado s also)
I know you are getting tired of hearing this , but the UP is more a part of the Northern Tier. Quite different weather pattern, as most of our weather comes directly out of Canada.( except those very few summer hot days). I would go as far as to say the weather is much more predictable up here than most other places.

My predictions:
The UP will see it late next week.
The northern lower will get some the week after that.
Us "southerners" will get it the 2nd week in November.
My predictions:
UP = Oct 29
NP = Nov 04
SP = Nov 31

Weather channel says we should all be seeing some wet flakes at the tail end of this rainstorm that's blowing our way.

I'd agree with that. If you watch the jet stream overlays and the high pressure/low pressure systems move across the country, we frequently seem to be on the dividing line. Only in the middle of the summer do the warm air masses from the South push hard enough to keep it all up in Canada.

Of course, I'm not a meteorologist.

I don't think we'll see any snow in this system, at least not here in GR.

You all are seriously scaring this lady from Florida. If I vote not until February and then gone by March, is that wishful thinking?

Even some of our long time residents, and true Yoopers, go south for the winter months. On the other side , I have seen Florida tags here in January ! Upper Michigan gets a lot of snow, its usually very white, flaky, dry,easy to shovel stuff. The only problem is , some years it starts in Oct. and lasts till June. The more snow , the greater need for snowshoes.! I really need to buy a pair this winter!, however , if I do , we will have a very mild season. Last year Chicago got more bad winter weather than we did here in Marquette....So , you never know.
